What are some contributors to an introversive personality?

andcarga | Contributors | Sunday, 28 September 2008

Telenovelas

I feel that genes play the biggest role in determining personality. My mom and dad where introversive, so I am. But, my half-brother's mom(we had different moms) was extroversive, so my half-brother is extroversive.

But, what are some social factors in adolescents that may lead to introversive personalities, if there are any?

You're right that genetics is by far the biggest contributer. By introversion I mean people that get their 'batteries' drained when around groups of people, and the get refreshed by being alone or with smaller groups. Extraverts get the batteries drained by being alone, and get charged up by being in larger groups.

Probably the second largest factor are interactions with peers in childcare and at school, and family dynamics. If in your early school experience you started off quiet (having the tendency because of genes) it is easy to end up in that role where quiet behavior is what everyone expects of you. The same thing goes for your family.

The good news is that even if you are an introvert at heart, like I am, you can learn how to be more extraverted when it suits you. People don't change their temperament completely, but it is possible for an introvert to learn enough skills to look like an extrarvert in certain situations that they practice for.

In Elections and Politics they're nice, in business they're really mean, but what about books and authors?

I'm sure they're very nice.

Any top contributors out there? What is the most effective way to exterminate ANTS invading your home?

andcarga | Contributors | Saturday, 27 September 2008

Telenovelas

I have ants coming into my bathroom. I'm using "Terro" ant killer, and it seems to be taking longer then the box said. When they are really built up I use my shop vac. What is the best way to kill the an ants nest? from the root.

The solution is so simple and it does work. As Ive said to others with the same problem, mix Boric acid with honey. Pour into bottle caps, or beer bottle caps, lace in the area you see the ants. They are attracted to the sweetness of the honey. They ingest the mixture, take back to the nest and feed the larva. The acid burns them from the inside out. Like you or I swallowing Hydrochloric or Sulfuric acid. Try it, then you know what I'm saying does work.

What do the people who are top contributors do all day?

andcarga | Contributors | Saturday, 27 September 2008

Telenovelas

I have noticed top contributors who have answered over twenty five thousand questions within the past fifteen months. My question is: Do they spend their entire lives on the computer? Do they not have other things that they have to do? This is not insult, it is only question, as I have experimented personally, and what with other things in my life, I can only answer 400 questions in a month. That would be 6000 in fifteen months, and some people answered four times that. That means four times the amount of time I spent on a computer (about four hours), which adds up to about sixteen hours a day. When do they eat? Or do anything else? How did they get so knowledgeable as to be able to correctly answer that many questions?

I would appreciate answers from top contributors, as they would know for sure what they do all day.
Okay, I can see that I did not get the point quite right. I should have asked how anyone could answer over 25000 questions in fifteen months.
I now see it is a matter of planning and attention to points gathering, with cut and pasted answers. I will wait a bit more for more to be able to answer before picking a best answer

It really does not have much to do with how many questions are answered but the ratio of answers compared to best answers. I have many copy and pasted answers myself and although I have a level 7 standing the number of answers i have given are pretty small for being here under a year. I have seen some level 3 with the TC badge only being here for 2 months. when you see the same question posted over 200 times in a week you can answer then in a very short time with copy and paste. mind you not all my answers are as good as they could be but when they are I copy and paste my own answer to a document and use it when that question pops up again it saves time. For example I can go to the yahoo search category once a week and I have a great answer that has gotten me a best answer over 100 times I can scroll back 7 pages and hit the past 2 or 3 days and pick the questions that go with that answer which is a common question how do I get rid of the search items in the drop-down menu. I know how to do this my answer is detailed that a child could figure it out and within 20 minutes i have answered 50 questions with 70% of them ending as best answer.
You see it does not take as much time its just using the time wisely.
from all the times i log in and out equal to about 2 hours a day.

Additional Details: If you notice those that have so many questions they have answered (25K+) in such a short time answer a lot of short answers or a lot of copy and paste or the both combined.
also some of the categories require short answers or more to the point accept short answers like the joke section where you can just about answer every question with (lol) or (thats funny).

How do I cover costs for a free Web magazine (pay for site,contributors) WITHOUT using GoogleAdsense?

andcarga | Contributors | Saturday, 27 September 2008

Telenovelas

I want to start a web magazine that aims at educating youth and serving as a platform for serious intelligent discussions on society and governance.
My primary aim is not to make money, but I want to cover costs, pay contributors and make some profit.

I want my own site with an easy URL, and I do not want lots of click ads, and do not want to use Google Adsense.
There is no real trend for online shopping here.

I would appreciate your ideas and advice!

I operate an online magazine, and to pay for overhead (writers, etc), we focused on online advertising as our business model. We make sure we diversify our ad sources:

- we sell our own ads
- Adsense
- banner advertising
- affiliate programs

Adsense has been an incredible boost for us, and accounts for a significant percentage of our revenues.

However, if you do not wish to use Adsense or other advertising, your only option is to sell paid subscription where certain portions of your content are available only to premium subscribers.

But if you want a totally free and accessible Web magazine, advertising is a way to go (just like printed magazines which survives not by the subscription amount but through advertising). And Adsense currently is the best ad program right now in the market.

Top Contributors: How do you establish yourself in a category?

andcarga | Contributors | Friday, 26 September 2008

Telenovelas

I find myself gravitating to about 3 categories over and over. I am getting a lot of correct answers there.

But are there also generalist top contributors?

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers/badges/

This may help.

I only touch 2 categories, yahoo Products (there is plenty different categories there) and yahoo 360

Good luck to you

Why arent the Top Contributors asking questions here?

andcarga | Contributors | Thursday, 25 September 2008

Telenovelas

Very few Top Contributors post questions? One just did. But thats just one. What about others? Someone had a story writing contest which is nowhere to be found now? I wonder happened?

I think it will be better if TCs ask questions? Do you think since they give good answers, they will ask thought provoking questions?

Maybe because we know everything?

Nah, I didn't think that was it, but somebody had to say it. Since it's obvious I don't know everything, I figured it was safe for it to be me.

I do ask the occasional question, but almost never on the subject where I'm a top contributor. But when I needed to know something about deer hunting, YA got me more info than I needed, stuff I was able to use in the story I was writing.

Thought provoking and YA don't seem to go together, for the most part. YA discourages anything that could be mistaken for chat, and discussion on aspects of writing or books might fall into the category.

Are the top contributors in the immigration forum really respected more than the regular folks?

andcarga | Contributors | Thursday, 25 September 2008

Telenovelas

Or are they just more of a target….what do you think of the top contributors
It seems to me that most of them (not all) don't really say anything all that different than the rest of us.

LOL….the guy above me is right, it does appear to be random…and you are completely right in your observance….most of us(not all) just regurgitate what many others are saying.

you get a star

~~~~~ I just checked my contacts, of the 39 only 2 are T.C. and neither of them are in the immigration forum…I guess that means that I don't see any conection with being smart, or even "right" and having a T.C. badge.
Which of the greenhouse gases are the most significant contributors to global warming?
andcarga | Contributors | Thursday, 25 September 2008
Telenovelas
Which of the greenhouse gases are the most significant contributors to global warming? How do they work? How does it connect with global warming?
Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.
Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels and making CO2. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming, which is mostly caused by CO2:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Climate_Change_Attribution.png
It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.
Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.
Lots of numerical scientific data proving it real here:
Why do you suppose one of Hillarys' major contributors is evading the police today?
andcarga | Contributors | Thursday, 25 September 2008
Telenovelas
Do you believe she did not know what he was about? Do you trust her now?
Keep in mind that these type contributors always donate to the other candidates to keep from suspicion.
Actually he's been evading them since 1992. What else happened in 1992? hint: it involved another Clinton.
